A Tribute to Steven Wybenga
Steven was a great friend of ours. He loved to sing in our church youth band, EDGE, as well as performing the music in sign language. Steven was always a server and loved Jesus, this showed in him everyday through is darling smile. Steven helped out with sound, lighting, music copying and anything else he could get his hands on.

On June 22, 2004 Steven was tragically killed in a car accident, he was only 15 years old. We still miss him but know that he is singing praises to Jesus with the angels!

Shortly after Steven’s death his mother wrote a poem of what it must have been like for Steven when Jesus came to get him. She asked Rachael to put the poem to music and make it a song.

It has been our heart's desire to make Steven’s Song, "Heaven’s Door" available for you to listen to for a long time.  Click on the song title, or the speaker right next to it to listen to a sample of this incredible song.
Heaven's Door

Adapted from a poem written by

Dedicated to Steven Wybenga

When the angels came to get me
I could see God’s glory in their eyes
They said God wanted me home
I said no that won‘t do
My family will be alone
Don’t fret said the angels
Just praise said the angels
God isn’t finished with them yet

Chorus:
I ran and jumped into his arms
I knew from now on I would never be harmed
His love surrounded me
Never the same I would be
For that’s what you do
When you enter Heaven’s Door

I turned to look at Heaven
And one last time at earth
I saw my whole life before me
From now until birth
When I turned back to Heaven
Jesus was standing there
He said, "job well done,
Now please come here!"

As I walked into Heaven
I was greeted by my loved ones and friends
Then I knew that this wonderful life
Would never ever end

Come see your new home
First, let me worship God alone

(Chorus)

I fell to my face at my Lord and Savior
In his mercy and grace
Thank you for choosing me
And that I found favor in your eyes

(Chorus)

I sang and danced like never before
For that’s what you do
When you enter Heaven’s door.
